Do I Really Need A Website To Run An Online Business ?

Yes, you do. Next question…. I am serious, if you are building or planning to build an online business, you have to have a website of your own.

Forget about the stories where people make a fortune using Adwords or Yahoo! and straight affiliate promotions, meaning linking directly to the merchant.

The truth of the matter is you must have a website of some kind in order to really make it online. Maketing became sofisticated and competition is fierce, so if you can't be better or at least equal to the other Websites in your niche you are going to have a hard time.

You can start out with free webpages like a Blog here on Blogger or with your own lens on Squidoo, but your business will grow faster when you have your own website.

Let me put it this way. Without a website of your own, you will have tremendous difficulty in accomplishing the following 'must have' pieces of building a successful business online:

Building your list. About 50% of IM revenues come from Offline Marketing.

Selling affiliate products. Google is fighting against direct Affliate Links.

Selling your own products. For a good, professional sales page a Website is a must.

Delivering your own products. Same count's for the download page.

Establishing your credibility as an expert. It's a big difference for your clients if you have a Website or just a Free Blog, Squidoo Lens.

The exceptions to this are people who wish to generate all of their income from one network marketing company or from selling on eBay – and even then, having your own website (and not just the replicated site your company gives you) provides a tremendous advantage over your competitors.

Therefore you need as well a reliable Webhost who let you concentrate on your Job. Using a cheap or Free Web Host can be a real problem and you have to be able to focus on your business.
